Velvet completed both her International and National Champion titles at her second show as an adult, as well as taking Best of Breed and Group twice, and competing for Best in Show.  When this show was over we took Velvet out of show coat and discovered that underneath she was going totally silver beige.  She is now at 4 years of age almost totally silver - with clearer coloring than many silvers that start out black.  This is our first silver beige and it has been interesting watching the coat change, and how fast it is compared with the silver underlying the black. Velvet was as dark a brown as the Hershey bar wrapper as a pup, and was still a very dark brown as shown in her picture taken at the last show, however you could tell at her waist that a change was taking place, we just didn't expect it to be so drastic.  The silver lines behind her dam are six generations back, and are very dilute lines.

Velvet has whelped two beautiful black and brown litters (11 pups V1, 10 pups V2) sired by "Raven", with outstanding results.  The pups when temperament tested at 7 1/2-8 weeks of age tested very highly for social skills, people orientation, retrieving, search & rescue & tracking instincts, as well as a high level of intelligence for agility and obedience work.  These are very exciting litters to work with, being exceptional when given the "opportunity to learn", house breaking at a very early age. Several are training as service dogs, several in agility, and two in search and rescue - including one exported to Germany.  It will be interesting to watch her puppies progress, and to see how many change to the silver beige as they age.

Karin's daughter Beatrice Elizabeth (known as Bitsy) at 1 1/2 years playing with the V1 puppies.  They are as charmed by her as she is by them.

Friendships VR Irish Moka was sold at 8 weeks of age and travelled to her new owner in Oklahoma at 10 weeks of age.  Unfortunately her new owner became ill, and it was decided to have "Moka" shipped back to Friendships.  She is a delightful, exhuberant yearling.  Because of health reasons it is necessary for me to reduce the size of our kennel temporarily so we are trying to decide at this time whether to add "Moka" to our breeding program - if so she will complete her testing and be bred Spring 2006 to "Sterling", or to place her in a new home. Due to this we will consider anyone who feels that "Moka" would make a good addition to their family and/or their breeding program.   She now resides with her  new owner in New York and is competing in Obedience trials and may continue on with agility events as well.
